Shaped by hand in Jingdezhen, China’s historic porcelain capital, the Whispering Tide Mug brings movement, warmth, and individuality to your everyday ritual.
Each mug features flowing hand-carved lines and a raised spiral motif inspired by ripples traveling across water. Layered reactive glazes create rich, unpredictable tones—from deep ocean blue and jade green to warm amber, smoky brown, and soft ivory. A natural fiber-wrapped handle adds an earthy finishing touch and a comfortable, tactile grip.
Because every mug is formed, carved, glazed, and kiln-fired by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike. Subtle differences in color, texture, and shape are not imperfections—they are the signature of the maker and the fire.
Perfect for coffee, tea, cocoa, or any quiet moment that deserves a little more character.
The Story Behind the Mug
In Jingdezhen, water and fire have shaped porcelain for more than a thousand years.
The idea for the Whispering Tide Mug began with a simple scene after a summer rain: drops falling from an old tiled roof into a clay basin, sending small spirals across the surface. The potter traced those ripples into wet clay, allowing each line to follow the natural movement of the hand rather than a fixed pattern.
Inside the kiln, the glazes moved again. Heat softened their edges, blended their colors, and left behind unexpected flashes of blue, copper, green, and gold. Each firing captured a different moment—like the surface of water changing with the sky.
The spiral on every mug is a reminder that handmade objects carry their own journey: from earth, through water, into fire, and finally into your hands.
