Craft Story

Handcrafted in Jingdezhen, China’s millennium-old porcelain capital, this split-tone mug set draws inspiration from half-exposed ancient fossil rock, showing two different layers of earth sediment.

Each cup is hand-sculpted into soft curved organic shapes without rigid industrial molds. Our potters divide the clay body evenly for dual-tone mineral glazing: one side is coated with pale cream glaze streaked with faint yellow and sepia veins, while the other side is covered with smoky dark brown mineral glaze dotted with metallic speckles. During high-temperature kiln firing, the glazes melt and blend naturally along the split boundary, forming unrepeatable fossil sediment textures. No two mug sets carry identical color transition details, making each vessel a miniature geological art piece for daily use.
